What is SSL?

For your security, sites fully designed and administered by AV Technologies will not allow information to be collected by pages that require security over an non-secure 'http' connection. SSL is Secure Sockets Layer, a protocol designed to transmit private documents over the Internet. SSL encrypts data so that only the intended recipient of the information can read it. All major web browsers (like Internet Explorer) support the use of SSL. Many sites currently use this technology to protect the information they collect, like credit card numbers, from being intercepted. For a site to be secured using SSL the site address must begin with 'https' in place of 'http".
